 | | February 2008 Meeting Hilights By Monte Ferguson We started off the February meeting with a rumors update from Terry.
He also discussed the recent iPod updates, mainly increases in
storage. We also touched on the updated MacPro's. The iPhone also
received updates. You can now choose an iPhone in 4,8, or 16GB of
storage. Terry commented that 3G is built into the iPhone but was not
enabled, due to spotty 3G wireless coverage throughout the US.Read the complete article. |

 | | January 2008 Meeting Hilights By Monte Ferguson The January meeting took a different approach than our usual meeting.
At the outset Terry announced that the presentation on iWork '08 was
being pushed back to Feb. It was deemed necessary to accommodate all
of the announcements from MacWorld. For January's meeting we watched
the MacWorld Keynote streaming from Apple's web site. At appropriate
points we'd pause the video for Terry to offer further insights and
commentary, as well as answer questions from the audience. (Thanks to
Andy Dragt for coordinating the streaming video and manning the AV
equipment which made the experience possible.)Read the complete article. |

 | | November 2007 Meeting Hilights By Monte Ferguson Our November meeting was jam packed of interesting information. It
was held just a couple of weeks after Leopard was released for sale.
We covered that some early adopters were experiencing blue screen, ie
freezes, after upgrading. Apple had tracked it back to third party
applications that hacked the MacOS. A major addition to the iTunes
Store was the full catalog of Led Zeppelin. We discussed the price of
movies on the iTunes Store. Terry commented that the movie studios
had wanted a kick back for each Mac sold, much like Universal gets
for each Zune sold. Apple has firmly told them no. We then had an
impromptu demonstration of Bento. Bento is a consumer database and
personal data organizer. Think of it as a database for the rest of
us. It's pretty slick. It comes with a bunch of professional
templates and can hook into Apple apps like Address Book.Read the complete article. |

An informal poll showed that most attending members planned to get it either when it went on sale or within the week. There was much talk about the minimum requirements for Leopard. Next topic was the new iMacs and keyboard. Several people chimed in with their first hand impressions of the new hardware. Terry also shared that new laptops were rumored to be released very soon. We concluded the general portion of the meeting with a Treasurers report. We had 31 paid members and $622 in the bankRead the complete article. |

 | | May 2007 Meeting Hilights By Monte Ferguson Our May meeting featured our second look at Video Blogging, or vlog'ing. To recap a vlog is considered different, at least by purists, from a podcast in that a vlog is skewed to a personal viewpoint. Meaning it's a personal expression. Whereas podcasts run the gamut of personal to professional. Read the complete article. |
